BABY BABY BABY

After a long labor (Tuesday to Thursday), a bit of pushing, and an unexpected and uncomfortable ride to the hospital, we welcomed Toby William Keiser into the world on Thursday March 13th, 2008 at 3:40pm. He weighed 7 pounds and 9 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long.

For those who don't know, Madeleine was born cesarean and we were planing a home birth VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) for Toby. Although we had the unexpected transport to the hospital (I was damn exhausted) we had a beautiful VBAC delivery at the hospital. Toby came into the world surrounded by friends, family and wonderful amazing midwives.

Thank you to everyone who sent their love and support during the pregnancy, labor and after Toby was born. We promise to post more pictures when we get a little more settled.

Long time away

Been too long cause Joe actually has to work at work so I, Sahru, am filling in. So much has happened since the last post in October. Thanksgiving with the Handelsmans in Santa Rosa, Yosemite for Christmas, Pasadena with Joe's family for New Years and Madeleine starting preschool in January.

Madeleine loved the snow in Yosemite especially the icicles. Every time we left the cabin we had to search for icicles for her to munch. Other snow highlights included some slow sledding (by Madeleine's request), building a snow person with Joe and her first hot chocolate with "tofu" (mini marshmallows that Madeleine called tofu!).

Madeleine also transitioned into her very own room in Oct/Nov and loves it (so do we since we can actually sleep in our bed without her head and feet in our backs!). We painted one wall blue and Joe made sea animals to go on the wall. It is her very own sea wall!

Lastly, we talk a lot about her becoming a big sister which she seems to be into. Everyday she changes her mind on whether she wants a baby brother or baby sister. She talks to the baby in the belly all the time and I feel like the baby will be very familiar with Madeleine's voice when he/she comes out.

That is it for now. Hopefully the next post will include new baby info (and lots of new pictures)!
