"Great Grand" Finale

After many months, and many attempted but aborted plans to meet, Madeleine was finally introduced to her Great Grandma Lee - the last of the "Great Grands" who had yet to meet little Maddie. The meeting took place in Pasadena, where the family was gathered to celebrate, and send-off Maddie's Uncle Dan, who's leaving at the end of this week to start his Freshman year at NYU.

Great Grandma was able to fly out to Pasadena, from Tucson, and Maddie drove down from San Francisco, and the two spent the weekend playing "itsy bitsy spider" and discussing the finer points of what cows and pigs say.

Madeleine was also able to spend some time with her Uncle, and passed on some advice for the new college freshman. That advice likely consisted mostly of reminders to: 1) drink your milkies, 2) ba-ma-da-na-na, and 3) drink more milkies.

Bell-O-The Ball ... Yet Again

Madeleine blew-away yet another wedding crowd with her utter cuteness. This time it was Amanda and Kevin, friends of Maddie's Mom & Dad, and the many wedding guests in attendance, who fell prey to Maddie's beguiling charms.

The wedding, a beautiful outdoor gala in Ashland Oregon, marked Maddie's first trip outside of California. Oregon officials have yet to issue a final decision, but it's expected that Madeleine may never be let back into the State. Officials in the State's capitol Salem, stated that "it would simply be unfair to the babies of Oregon to allow the re-entry of such an intoxicating and hypnotically cute California baby." California's Attorney General refused to comment, but has indicated that a lawsuit may be pending.

Madeleine Goes Camp-eleine

Maddie has enjoyed her first ever camping trip, and boy did she get dirty. Miss Byrd explored the great outdoors, or at least the dirt and trees at her campsite where she got her fingers and toes all nice 'n' dirty. She also visited the lakes and meadows in and around Lassen Volcanic National Park, and took some beautiful hikes through the park.

The whole family enjoyed the majestic views of Lassen's peaks and valleys, and took in the crisp pine scented air, during three wonderful days of outdoor living.

More camping is likely in Madeleine's future, but probably not for a little while. Says Dada Keiser about the trip, "it was really fun and beautiful, but if you can imagine how hard it is to rein in a baby who's just starting to stand up and explore EVERYTHING in the family home, climbing on every dangerous, jagged, hard surface she can pull herself, or crawl herself onto -- then imagine doing that with no walls to help rein her in, and even more dangerous things for her to find her way into. Yeah, it was fun, but I don't think we need anymore of that kind of fun for a little while."
