Newborn Noir in the News

As a San Francisco native, Madeleine has a natural affinity for noir. In the tradition of Dashiell Hammett, the Maltese Falcon, and foggy back-alley intrigue, Maddie's own style tends toward the mysterious.

"I think I'm just drawn to the darker side of things" Madeleine confessed to this reporter during a recent interview. "I prefer stroller rides in the fog, soulful renditions of "Old MacDonald", and playing with my stuffed bat. It's just who I am. None of this Care Bear #$!@& for me."

Fans of this up-and-coming artist are eagerly awaiting the next installment in her critically acclaimed "San Francisco Suckies" trilogy. Ms. Byrd promises that in this final entry, all the loose ends of the first two novels will be tied up, we'll finally see love bloom between Baby-Face and Mr. Wubby, and it will at last be explained exactly who or what "Un-Gah" is.
