Byrd Meets Turkey

The first of Maddie Byrd's many holiday seasons to come, began with a festive yet intimate Thanksgiving. In attendance were Grandma T. & Grand-Boyfriend Alfonso, Great Uncle Neil & Kitty, and of course, the parentals.

Most of the day was spent in preparation for the big meal. With Daddy preparing the turkey and side dishes, Mommy baking the pies, and Maddie supervising it all.

Reports are that the entire evening was a huge success. The turkey was moist and delicious. "It was the best white meat ever," according Grandma T., "and I never eat the white meat, but this was one moist bird." The green bean casserole was a big hit. The sweet potatoes were as sweet as could be. The stuffing was savory. The mashed potatoes were creamy. And the gravy was overflowing.

Hopefully there will be more family around to help celebrate little Maddie Byrd's second Turkey day in '06. But this was a wonderful introduction to a holiday this 13 pound two month old is sure to grow to love ... an entire day devoted to eating.

The Big Two (months)

Little Maddie is now two months old! It seems like only yesterday that her parents were boiling teas, and messaging various body parts, to try to get Maddie to come out into the world, and now she's practically grown.

Maddie can already smile, hold her head up, ask for food (with a polite little cry), she can laugh flirtingly, and can drink half her bodyweight in liquids. Basically, she's ready for college.

So, what's the next big thing on this precious young woman's plate? In an exclusive interview, Ms. M had this to say: "Gah bah bmmmm phffff. Cooo paah bfffaa." And, if that happens, ITSTHEKEISERS will be there to cover every exciting minute of it.

Good Luck little M. Byrd, and happy two month birthday from everyone here at ITSTHEKEISERS.

Suck This

Not wanting to miss out on all the feeding fun, Maddie's Dad has begun bottle feeding his daughter. Every night around 7PM, the two warm up some Mom-juice, settle into a comfy spot on the couch, and suck, suck, suck.

"It's a special time, and she's just so cute to watch while she feeds," recounts a happy bottle-feeding Dad. "Although sometimes she has some real excorsist sized spit-ups after the bottle. I mean like fountains of milk, just shooting out of her! It's really $#@&% scary sometimes!!! But usually it's a nice relaxing time."

Plus, as a special bonus, now that baby has found, and is friends with bottle, the baby-sitting possibilities are wide open ...

Baby Got Sat

In an unprecedented move, the parents of 7 week old Madeleine Keiser, left their daughter in the hands of grandparents, and had a romantic evening out.

Said one grandparent of the whole experience: "It was kind of boring. She slept almost the whole time."

The free-wheeling parents enjoyed an elegant sushi dinner at Sushi Groove in downtown San Francisco. Then the couple headed for a bit of gelato, before making their way back home to make sure the house hadn't burned down.

Recounting their extravagant evening, one parent commented: "It was weird to be away from her, and we ended up spending most of the night talking about her. But it was really nice to have some adult time - you know, time when neither one of us had to worry about changing each other's diaper."

11 Pounds of Joy

Our tiny little baby, who only 5 weeks ago weighed a mere 7 1/2 pounds & measures only 20 1/2 inches, now clocks in at over 11 pounds and 22 inches! That's right, she's eatin' like there's no tomorrow, and no one can stop her till she's sucked her mommy dry!

According to pediatrician Dr. Winchel Quock (yes, that's really his name), a newborn will gain an average of 2 pounds per month at this age. Well, Maddie's already packed on a hearty 4+ pounds in one month, and shows no sign of slowing down in weight or height.

"If this unprecedented rate of growth continues," speculates Dr. Quock, "Madeleine will top out at around half-a-ton and will stand around 32 feet tall."

So watch out Al Qaeda, move over Hurricane Katrina, & step aside Avian Flu - there's a new threat to Homeland Security, and her name's Madeleine; the incredible expanding baby!
